- SMS marketing has often been described as having died, but it seems news of its demise was greatly exaggerated. A recent study by SimpleTexting shows that through 2020 and into 2021, SMS marketing has shown a resurgence, with the pandemic resulting in more people checking their phones.
- 61% of consumers increased or significantly increased the time they spent on text apps, with 62% of consumers opting to allow at least one company to send texts. In fact, its more then just one company that people are allowing texts from, as 43% subscribed to being contacted via text by 3 companies or more.
- Compared to the average response time with email, at roughly 30 minutes, text messages saw 72% of people respond within 10 minutes. Alongside this, business owners and digital marketers have seen a high level of engagement, with click-through rates between 20% and 35%.
- Consumers preference pushed towards receiving less texts in a span of time, with 60% saying they unsubscribed from texts from companies due to being contacted too frequently.
