- The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) has published their newest report, looking into cyberattacks towards small businesses in 2020 and steps that should be taken to protect against attacks
- Since March 2020, 5% of businesses have been the victims of a successful attack, which could mean roughly 61,000 small and mid-sized businesses across Canada were hit by cyberfraud in 2020
- 2020 saw many small businesses turn to ecommerce, with stores embracing online to open new revenue options. The CFIB has said awareness amongst employees is important in combating any further attacks, as more then 80% od attacks were caused by fraudulent emails
