- Social Commerce is purchasing any form of product or service on a social media platform, such as Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. If you go and buy candles entirely from a store within Facebook for example, that’s Social Commerce.
- It can take a variety of forms, such as the ability to click on a product and go instantly to the checkout, social commerce plugins and apps, shoppable ads which you will often see on Instagram and Snapchat for example, and chatbot checkouts using message functions.
- Being able to give the user the ability to quickly purchase without leaving the app can be a major draw. As more and more people use social media, being able to sell directly to them is not an opportunity to miss.
