- ShopHERE, launched in May of this year, will recieved C$1 million in funding from Google Canada as it expands across Canada.
- Originally set up as a City of Toronto initiative, the scheme is designed to help local independent businesses and artists setup online storefronts so that they can continue to operate despite lockdown measures.
- It has now expanded out of Toronto and Ontario, across Canada. The investment from Google Canada is said to be able to help 50,000 online stores be set up.
- Alongside Google and the City of Toronto, the initiative is also partnered with Shopify, Mastercard, Microsoft and the Canadian Government.
