- Empire Co.Ltd, the parent company of grocery chain Sobeys and online grocery delivery service Voila has seen a profit of CA$161 million and has announced new plans to expand
- The company is looking to push Voila out to Alberta next year as its ecommerce arm becomes more and more successful. These plans include a new customer fulfilment centre to be built in Calgary
- Empire’s president and CEO Michael Medline said “We are now ready and well positioned to take the next meaningful step forward in our plans to win the ecommerce battle in Canada”
