- Spotify, Match, Epic Games Inc and 10 other organizations have formed the Coalition for App Fairness, in an attempt to push both Google and Apple into making changes to their app stores
- The coalition has set forth a series of “App Store Principles”, several of which take aim at current policies used by Google and Apple, including Apple’s 30% cut of all purchases and subscriptions
- The row over the mobile sale platforms has heated in recent months as traffic has risen due to the pandemic. Epic Games, creators of the video game Fortnite, have already had a series of public arguments with Apple over the cut they take from each in app transaction taken
- The other organizations in the group are Basecamp, Tile, Deezer, ProtonMail, Blockchain.com, Skydemon, Prepear, Blix, News Media Europe and the European Publishers Council
