- Walmart Canada announced today that it will hire 10,000 new “associates” as it looks to quickly expand its Canadian operations amidst a massive growth of ecommerce for the company
- The positions, which the Walmart Canada says it is looking to fill “immediately” will be in its ecommerce operations, staffing warehouses, delivery drivers and fulfilling orders
- The hiring is part of the companies C$3.5 billion investment to expand and upgrade its ecommerce network. Included in this investment will be two new distribution centres, one in the Greater Toronto Area
- Since the start of the pandemic, Walmart Canada has seen its online orders double in most regions, tripled in some, matching its massive growth in the U.S. over the same period
