- A recent survey by Angus Reid, commissioned by EMERGE Commerce, shows that online shopping habits picked up due to the effects of the pandemic will last far longer then the health crisis.
- 51% of those surveyed in Ontario said they would return to shopping in person once the pandemic ended, but only 8% had remained shopping primarily in person during the pandemic.
- This means that just under half of those surveyed will choose to shop online after the pandemic, marking a dramatic increase from two years ago.
- This survey comes after the recent release of Deloitte’s Global State of the Consumer Tracker which indicated that roughly 50% of consumers say they will continue to shop more online then they did in 2019.
