- A new study by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) surveying ecommerce and what hurdles lie in the way of success, has reported its findings
- Among the key statistics were businesses that conducted 50% of their trade online outperformed others during lockdown with 39% saying revenue increased in that time
- Currently, only 46% of small businesses plan to sell online after the current crisis, rising just 3% from the beginning of lockdown. Of those asked, only 15% thought that online sales would increase in the next 3 years
- The study has also presented a series of solutions and a roadmap for what they found to be recurring problems cited by those surveyed. Pierre Cléroux, Vice president, Research and Chief Economist at the BDC said that small business are “not seeing e-commerce opportunities, nor are they preparing for them”
